Design

The Simpson MSH3125 MegaShot has a steel frame and provides ample onboard accessory storage. Its weight of 55 lbs is actually the lightest of any gas pressure washer that we’ve reviewed as of the time of this writing. Its handle, large wheels, and 25-ft hose add to the maneuverability of the pressure washer, making it easy to transport as needed.

The detergent siphon hose and automatic dilution are clever features, allowing you to use any detergent straight from the bottle. This model also comes with five different nozzle attachments that can help you do anything from soaping to the cleaning of rugged surfaces and stubborn dirt.

On the downside, some users have complained that this gas-powered machine can be messy to operate. The engine too can get jammed if not properly looked after, especially in long storage runs.

Simpson MSH3125 Assembly

You can also follow these easy steps for setting up your pressure washer.

Steps required for assembly:

    1. Once you have the accessories laid out in front of you, you can start by setting up the handle on the frame. This can be done by pressing the snapping buttons on the handle and sliding the handle assembly onto the frame until you hear a snap.
    2. On the handle assembly, you can see the nozzle holders. Place each nozzle into the slot assigned to it. This can be done easily as all slots and nozzles are color-coded.
    3. Moving on to the spray wand, you can attach it by simply inserting it into the front opening of the trigger gun and turning counterclockwise until it is secured.
    4. Next, you can move on to attaching the high-pressure hose in two simple steps.
      1. Attach one end to the trigger gun by pushing it in at the bottom of the trigger gun and turning until the connection is secure.
      2. Take the free end and attach it to the outlet near the handle assembly. Secure it by threading it clockwise.
    5. Finally, connect the garden hose into the water inlet given just below the high-pressure hose outlet and tighten till secure. Connect the free end to the water source.

Now your assembly is all done!

Washing

Once the assembly process is taken care of, the pressure washer is ready for use. However, there are some things you have to take care of before the actual use.

  1. Ensure that the oil tank, located at the opposite side of the water inlet and outlet, is filled with the necessary amount of oil.
  2. Ensure that all air pockets in the high-pressure hose are removed by pressing the trigger for 30 seconds, before use.
  3. Pour the required amount of gas in the gas tank, located at the opposite side of the handle assembly.
  4. Flip the switch at the front of the machine to “on”.

To assist you with your cleaning applications, you can choose from a range of five nozzle fittings. This table will help you decide the best fit for your use.

  • Red (0°) Nozzle: Very high pressure, low flow. To clean surfaces like unpainted metal or concrete; DO NOT use on wood.
  • Yellow (15°) Nozzle: High pressure, medium flow. Use for grills, driveways, concrete or brick walkways, unpainted brick, etc.
  • Green (25°) Nozzle: Medium pressure, medium flow. For yard tools, sidewalks, lawn furniture, unpainted siding, stucco, gutters, concrete, brick surfaces.
  • White (40°) Nozzle: Lower pressure, high flow. To clean wood, painted brick, and stucco, vinyl, painted siding.
  • Black (Soap) Nozzle: Soap nozzle. For applying soap and detergent. Ok on all surfaces.

The Simpson MSH3125 MegaShot comes with a detergent siphon hose that makes it very easy to use detergent. Simply, choose a detergent that works well with pressure washers. Remove the lid and put the detergent siphon hose into the bottle of detergent and the detergent will be sucked in automatically. Additionally, this machine is capable of diluting the detergent by itself and does not require any pre-mixing.
