Performance
The Greenworks 1700 is a light-duty pressure washer designed for residential use. This model offers 1700 PSI and 1.2 GPM, both of which are comparable to models in the same class. With these specs, you get a decent cleaning unit count of 2040, good enough for household use.
You can use the soap applicator and the two nozzle tips to soap and rinse anything from your cars to stubborn dirt on your pavement. In addition, the customer reviews for this Greenworks pressure washer are mostly positive and users have found the power and pressure to be sufficient.
However, the Greenworks GPW1702 delivers low power for its price, and this is the reason why it is rated at “average” on our scale. There are some alternatives that deliver similar power for a lower price.

Another notable feature that adds to the compact and stable design is that this model is designed to function well, both vertically and horizontally.

Assembly
The Greenworks 1700 is one of the easiest pressure washers to assemble. You can simply follow the steps below for a quick assembly.
Steps required for assembly:
- First, set up the trigger gun holder. While looking at the machine directly from the front, you will find a tab on the right side of the machine(your left). Insert the holder until it locks into the tab.
- Next, you can fix up the gun. Attach the spray wand to it by inserting the male end of the wand into the female opening at the front of the gun. While inserting, turn the wand clockwise until the two parts are locked.
- Now, secure the high-pressure hose connections. You can do this in two simple steps.
- Connect one end of the high-pressure hose to the outlet at the lower front portion of the pressure washer. Secure it by rotating clockwise until the tabs are locked.
- Connect the free end to the lower opening on the trigger gun by pushing it in and rotating clockwise until the tabs are secure.
- Connect the garden hose to the inlet at the lower right side of the pressure washer. The garden hose can be tightened by hand.
- To connect the spray tip, pull back the quick-connector on the open end of the spray wand you require, push the spray tip into place, and release the collar forward to secure it.
Washing
Once the connections of the Greenworks 1700 (GPW1702) have been put in place, check if all the attachments are secure. Once this is confirmed, flip the switch at the front of the machine to “on.” Next, remove the lock on the trigger gun and squeeze the trigger for 30 seconds to ensure that air pressure within the hose is released. Now, you are good to go!
Of the three given options (the soap applicator and the 25° and 40° nozzle tips), choose the one that suits your need the best.
- White (40°) Nozzle: Lower pressure, high flow. For light cleaning applications like wood decks and furniture.
- Green (25°) Nozzle: Medium pressure, medium flow. For sweeping debris and foliage and removing dirt from surfaces.
To use the soap applicator, unscrew the lid on top and fill the tank with a detergent suitable for pressure washers. Pre-mixing of detergent may be required if the detergent bottle says so.
Close the lid on top and attach the soap applicator to the spray wand. This can be done by pushing the opening attached to the applicator into the spray wand opening. While pushing, turn the attachment clockwise, until the tabs are locked.
Your detergent is now ready for application.
Verdict on the Greenworks 1700 (GPW1702)
